Troubleshooting
Fixes for the errors buyers report most often when installing FiveM scripts.
These are the problems that come up most often in support tickets. If yours is not here, open a ticket on Discord.
“You lack the required entitlement”
The script is escrowed and your server’s license key belongs to a different Cfx.re account than the one that bought it.
- Generate the server key with the account that owns the asset, or
- Transfer the asset to the account that owns the key from Keymaster.
“Failed to verify protected resource”
The escrowed files were changed on the way to the server.
- Upload the folder again exactly as downloaded. If you use FTP, use binary mode.
- Do not edit files other than
config.lua, locales and the open files listed in each script’s docs. - Update your server artifacts.
The script does nothing and there are no errors
- Check that it starts after its framework, ox_lib and oxmysql in
server.cfg. - Run
restart <resource>and read the server console from the start: a missing dependency is reported there. - Make sure the folder name is the original one.
The menu stays open or the cursor does not go away
- Another resource may be holding the NUI focus. Stop resources one by one to find it.
- Check F8 for a JavaScript error and paste it in your ticket as text.
- A renamed resource also breaks the callbacks between the menu and the script.
ox_lib errors on start
You probably downloaded the source code. Download the release zip from the ox_lib releases page and restart the server.
ESX errors about getSharedObject or showNotification
They come from older scripts written for older versions of ESX. Current XeX scripts use a framework bridge and detect ESX Legacy, QBCore and Qbox. If you see this with a current version, set Config.Framework to your framework instead of auto and open a ticket.
Players lost their licenses or data after updating
Before you update, read the “Upgrading” section of the script’s docs. Some scripts let you keep the names your server already uses, so nothing changes for players.
